Code of ethics

Code of Ethics
Meyibó is a peer-reviewed academic journal that, in addition to placing evaluation and continuous improvement at the heart of its identity, adheres to a code of ethics appropriate for all those involved in its development (authors, reviewers, advisors, designers, editors, programmers, and ultimately, readers). As a publication of historical scope and open to the humanities and social sciences, each issue has been published under high standards of quality and objectivity, ensuring the confidentiality of information. Throughout each phase, the journal's editorial team manages the submission of each text professionally, drawing on all available knowledge, both human and technological, to maintain the publication's academic prestige. The journal also subscribes to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

From the Director and Editorial Board:
● The editorial direction of Meyibó is entrusted to a researcher from the IIH-UABC, whose performance will correspond to the objectives and requirements of the position.

● In addition to being comprised of sufficient IIH-UABC staff, the editorial board is composed with gender parity and a balanced number of national and international academics.

● The commitment of the journal's advisors is to hold a meeting at least once during each UABC academic year. The procedure for extraordinary cases will be carried out through various asynchronous means.

● The Director of Meyibó, in coordination with the Editorial Board, will utilize a network of contacts and academic contacts to ensure that no conflicts of interest arose in any review process. ● Unforeseen cases involving irregularities in the submission of each text will also be subject to the discretion and reasoned decision of the editor, or to a collective deliberation by the journal's Editorial Board.
Regarding authors and reviewers:

● When submitting and ultimately publishing a text in the various formats offered by Meyibó, authors must guarantee the authenticity of the work in question with a signed letter.

● In accordance with the standards of research and historical knowledge, authors must at all times provide evidence of the different sources, indications, and evidence that influenced the preparation of their work.

● Although they are not the only ones, authors and reviewers are the first line of defense against plagiarism or other dubious attempts to submit a text with an incorrect scientific validation. From the Editors and Advisory Committee:

● Meyibó is a journal published by the IIH-UABC (Institute of Historical Research of the Autonomous University of Baja California). In addition to having a director of the academic unit and of the journal itself, it is affiliated with several editorial bodies and scientific quality indexes.

● Working closely with the director of Meyibó, the journal's editor ensures that quality standards are met in each published issue. Given that this is a publication on academic history, editing is one of the steps following peer review that defines the journal's excellence.

● The editor will supervise compliance with publication guidelines at all times and, above all, ensure that anti-plagiarism tests, both human and technological, have been completed before submitting each text to press.

● ● The advisory committee is made up of prestigious academics, and the balanced number of people commissioned for this purpose will include enough members from within and outside of UABC, and from Mexican and foreign institutions, to ensure the integrity of Meyibó.
